Plants provide infinite phytochemical compounds, currently still unknown in their entirety. Its best intake and efficacy is recommended in standardized extract forms of high potency and quality. The Saw Palmetto (Serenoa repens) is a small North American palm that gets its name from the spiny stems with saw-like teeth at the base of each leaf. The extract is obtained from its dark berries, normally harvested between August and September. Its use dates back to the Seminole Indians and the Mayans, who used this plant as a tonic and as an expectorant and antiseptic. Traditionally it has also been used for male problems. Each capsule provides a total of 160 mg of Saw Palmetto berry oil extract (equivalent to 1440 mg of powdered berry) with a ratio of 85 to 95% fatty acids and sterols. Like our Prostex® product, it is a concentrated extract that provides levels equivalent to those used in relevant scientific studies. Few companies produce all of their herbal products in extract form, but at LAMBERTS® we think it's essential to do so. So while the "whole grass" alternative sounds great, it's simply the dried plant material, which will provide mostly fiber and few active ingredients (and that's if it can be digested). LAMBERTS® herbs are concentrated, soluble and are a guarantee of safety and efficacy.
