It is a food supplement based on Biocell Collagen® (type II hydrolyzed collagen: type II collagen, chondroitin sulfate and hyaluronic acid), glucosamine, proanthocyanidins from vine seed extract (Vitis vinifera) and vitamin E. Connective tissues (such as the vitreous body of the eye) are made up of specialized cells, a fibrillar matrix, and water. The fundamental components of the matrix are collagen, hyaluronic acid and proteoglycans. These fibrillar molecules act as support, but physiologically they are subject to oxidative or enzymatic degradation processes, balanced by continuous synthesis. With aging or in particular situations, degenerative processes prevail over synthetic processes, so it is necessary to act by blocking the former (degenerative processes) and stimulating the latter (synthetic processes). Hyaluronic acid and chondroitin sulfate are part of the group of compounds called glycosaminoglycans, a group of polysaccharides with great structural importance in vertebrate animals. Glucosamine is one of the amino derivatives of simple sugars that is widely distributed in natural polysaccharides, and its derivatives can also be found. Proanthocyanidins, also called leukocyanidins, from grapevine seed extract (Vitis vinifera), represent 60-70% of the total polyphenols in said extract. Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells against oxidative damage.
