Native to North Africa, this aromatic plant grows on sunny, mountainous hills. Its dark green, spicy leaves are oval and pointed, and its flowers appear in compact, fragrant, purplish-pink inflorescences.
The properties of oregano essential oil are very specific. Its primary target is infections of all kinds :
Respiratory infections: tonsillitis, bronchitis, sinusitis, rhinitis
Digestive infections: gastroenteritis.
Urinary and vaginal infections: candidiasis.
Tips & Tricks:
There are aromatic oil capsules that contain compact oregano essential oil.
Precautions:
- Harmful if swallowed. May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways.
- Toxic in contact with skin. May cause an allergic skin reaction.
- Keep out of reach of children. Do not apply undiluted to the skin.
- If swallowed: Rinse mouth. Do not induce vomiting.
- In case of eye contact: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.
- In case of skin contact: Wash with plenty of soap and water. Immediately call a poison control center or doctor.
- Keep away from all sources of heat and light.
